G-Star has always been one of my favorite streetwear brands for Fall/Winter. My brother bought me this Nelson Vest on a trip to London in 2003 when I was a sophomore in college at Clark Atlanta University.

Nobody in the states (besides NYC) was really on the brand heavy at that time… Now, with its larger retail expansion into the states, the brand is more well-known, but it’s always nice to be a supporter and break brands before they reach critical mass.

It’s dope that it still looks and wears like it’s new, 12 years later. To me, that’s the definition of a well-made, quality garment.

I paired the vest with an olive and brown toned shirt, and a neutral pants. The brown boots completed the look.

One thing to remember with streetwear ensembles, is that they can still posses an elegance while maintaining a functional urban appeal. It’s all in how you polish the look.
